Located in an old gas station, Payne's defines barbecue to Memphians and visitors alike. Although you won't be impressed by the exterior of the restaurant, the taste of this barbecue will knock you off your feet. Barbecue is served sliced or chopped with hot or mild sauce as well as in the form of ribs piled high on a plate with coleslaw on the side.
