Description

What a selection of music we have this year! Saturday, September 14 is the date for the biggest party of the summer – otherwise known as the Evolve Bank & Trust Cooper Young Festival!

Event Details

Seventeen musical acts on three stages – this year’s music is hot, hot, hot.

The Main Stage kicks off with the amazing Obruni Dance Band at 11:15 a.m. and goes on throughout the day highlighting some of the best of best and several new, upcoming artists in Memphis. Be sure to see CY resident, Tamar Love with Mama Honey midday and the amazing young man band, Under the Radar, that is taking the United States by storm at 3:15 p.m. We are excited to have The ShotGunBillys as our headliner bringing their high energy Southern rock with an Arkansas handshake to our Main Stage. Their album, Mississippi, will be out late August 2019. Main Stage is located directly in front of the Young Avenue Deli on Young Avenue.

The Memphis Grizzlies Stage will be highlighting Stephen Chopek, whose latest album Begin the Glimmer, was released October 2018. As well as Robenx, the amazing international rap star that uses his music to counter the effects of bullying and closing up the stage at 4:30 p.m. is Alice Hasen and the Blaze. Alice Hasen releases her debut solo album, Violintro on September 7, 2019 - just a week before Cooper Young Fest! The album was recorded in late March at Ardent Studios with Mike Wilson as engineer. The Memphis Grizzlies Stage is located at the intersection of Young Avenue and Meda Street.

CYFest is a proud partner of the We Are Memphis – The New Century of Soul this year! The stage located in the First Congo Church parking lot will highlight a ton of Memphis bands changing the look of soul music. You don’t want to miss indie pop singer, Harlan, kickoff the music at 12:15 p.m. Be sure to get in on the horns of the Lucky 7 Brass Band. Swamp soul songstress, Marcella & Her Lovers, will also be gracing this stage. Longtime Memphis favorite, James Godwin with James & The Ultrasounds, will be wrapping up this stage with their garage rock medleys.
