We are based out of Cookeville TN and also service Overton, White, DeKalb, Cumberland and Jackson Counties.
We specialize in injured animals, and as with all the animals we take in, they go immediately to Copeland Veterinary Hospital and are fully vetted. Our rescued animals are placed with a foster after being released from the vet, so that they can be kept as indoor family members, socialized, and house trained, which gives them a better chance to be adopted, and make the adoption more successful. We never keep any of our rescues in cages or kennels.
Our rescues may have come from high kill shelters or saved from environments that were not healthy for the animals such as being abandoned, neglectful owners, an owner passing away, or animals that were given up due to owner financial issues. However, most of our rescues are sick or injured strays that were found and surrendered by a citizen with a kind heart.
The animals we take into rescue are rarely ever healthy. In fact, 98% of them are injured, and have intestinal worms and/or heartworms, all of which require veterinary attention (scroll down my page to view my rescued animals and see where your support goes). Every animal I take in (I also rescue cats if it is an emergency) always goes straight to Copeland Veterinary Hospital for vaccinations and treatment of any injuries, plus any other obvious issues, and an overall examination to be sure there are no underlying health issues. Every animal is spayed or neutered,
