Description
The name "Memphis" belongs not only to a Tennessee city but to Egypt's ancient capital. In tribute, a unique display of Egyptian art is exhibited at this museum. Among the unusual offerings are a loaf of bread made between 2134 and 1786 BC and a 2200-year-old mummy. Visitors can also view a collection of West African artifacts and showings of contemporary art. Docent-led tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.
